About Melissa Danielson
I would like to take the
opportunity here to
briefly introduce
myself. It is essential
that you have a good
"fit" with your
therapist. You need to
feel safe with, and
confident of, the style
and approach of your
service provider.
Many individuals come to
therapy when they feel
stuck and unable to make
changes on their own. As
a therapist I am an
expert in guiding
clients in the process of
change. I believe that people have the
ability to make changes
in behavior, belief, and
perception. My
education, training, and
experience provide me
with the ability to
assess and implement the
interventions most
appropriate in each
person’s unique
situation, and my office
provides comfort,
confidentiality, and
convenience. |

Melissa has helped

I am a Licensed
Marriage and Family
Therapist with a
Masters of
Counseling in the
state of Nevada. I
graduated with a
Master’s degree in
Marriage and Family
Therapy from
University of Nevada
Las Vegas. I have
been practicing for
many years and
specialize in couple
therapy, trauma,
adolescents, and
children.

As a Licensed
Marriage and Family
Therapist I work
with individuals,
couples, families
and groups. The
scope of practice
for an MFT is to
work with
clients so
that
"interpersonal
relationships
are examined
for the
purpose of
achieving
more
adequate,
satisfying,
and
productive
marriage and
family
adjustments".
What does
this really
mean? It
means that
my intention
is to help
my clients
improve
their
relationships
with their
partners,
children,
friends,
acquaintances
and
themselves. Having
fulfilling
relationships is an
important piece of
having a happier and
healthier life.

While at University
of Nevada Las Vegas,
I studied under
Gerald Weeks, one of
the leading
therapists in the
field of sex
therapy. I also
worked at the Family
Project serving
teenagers and
families who were on
probation for
criminal acts. In
addition, I worked
in an outpatient
practice, serving
sexually abused
children,
adolescents, and
adults. I also
worked at an
outpatient agency
serving,
individuals, couples
and families.
Previously I served
as a sex educator
and sexually
transmitted disease
prevention
specialist in 2001.
I have also
counseled at Green
Valley Christian
church, and in 2006
led groups on
Boundaries,
Boundaries in
Dating, Boundaries
in Marriage, and
Young Girls
Adjustment. I also
serve as an
outpatient counselor
for Central
Christian church and
was the key-note
speaker at Green

Currently I have a
private practice as
a licensed marriage
and family therapist
offering afternoon,
evening and weekend
appointments. I am
committed to
providing my clients
with the highest
quality of care and
individualized
services. My exclusive practice provides an environment of confidentiality and privacy for each client.
